Gig Buddies' Best of 2017
We’re delighted to start our Best of 2017 on International Volunteer Day. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been in touch so far, and remind you all to contact us if you have a story about somebody making a difference this year!
Today, we’re proudly sharing a standout moment from Gig Buddies, a Brighton-based project that does great work to help people volunteer in their community. Gig Buddies matches adults who have a learning disability with a volunteer who has similar interests, so they can go to events together that they both love. At Community Channel, we’d like to send huge congratulations to one of their Gig Buddies, Harry Fairchild, who just won gold at the Sports Union Down Syndrome European Championships. He's the world’s only qualified table tennis coach with Down Syndrome, and has been a member of the Gig Buddies Project since the start!

If you'd like to watch and read more from our Best of 2017, follow us on Facebook and Twitter, where we’ll be sharing stories about the amazing things people have done this year. And send us an email if you want to find out how to get your story featured!
