BiographyHello My name is Gillian Eames l am 55 and have battled with a arthritic condition of the spine called Ankylosing Spondylitis for over 20 years. My cause is to make awareness for this awful disease for research into medications therapies for the future generations.l have been involved in a clinical drug trial for the last 5 yearsfor a drug called Anti-Tnf. The drug is licenced but is awaiting the NICE final guideline's. Some Pct's are funding patients to go on this drug. My Pct are refusing to fund me to stay on the drug i helped pioneer and has changed my life.l am fighting my Pct's decision and will not give up until i win. .................................................................................  GOOD NEWSl have at last one my battle to get funding from Bromley Pct to continue to stay on Anti-Tnf the twice weekly injection that gave me back some quality of life and dignity to cope with day to day life living with this awful disease. The last 6 months has been very stressful for my Mother son's and everyone that knows and cares about me. l am extremely happy that at last sense has prevailed and the very people that are suppose to care about our health and well being have come to their senses. My happiness is dampened as i am saddened that my decision will not be of any benefit to other sufferers of Ankylosing Spondylitis in Bromley. But we can make a difference around the country if we campaign as sufferers of this disease to be heard. My victory would not have been possible without a very special man my Rheumatologist who has looked after me for over 20 years without his care l would not be here today. Also my family Doctor, Emma Walden and the whole of the London Tonight team who have been fantastic. My family, friends, fellow sufferers and complete strangers have been my driving force that has kept me going.Thank you to all that have supported me and cared about me.The petition must be kept active as it can help other sufferers around the country.Kindest RegardsGillian Eames
