Putting the net in Netherthorpe |
Create new blog |
The WEA recently ran some successful courses at Netherthorpe Primary School in South Yorkshire. They were organised in partnership with NUCA (Netherthorpe & Upperthorpe Community Alliance) and supported the development of a community web-site.
The courses covered creating a web-site, recording and editing interviews, producing short video clips, and gathering local news and information to be put onto the web-site. A number of the learners went on to be involved with the ongoing development of the web-site and that will eventually contain local news, school announcements and health advice in community languages as well as offering the opportunity for local residents to ‘post' information, questions and replies to a ‘blogging' area.
