10 miles of loneliness Create new blog
So yesterday was my first race of 2008, a 10 miler starting at a school near St Albans.  Approximately 1,300 runners gathered in their running club gangs with me on my lonesome in my charity vest....

I got psyched out by these running enthusiasts!  Mentally I wasn't prepared for all those 'expert' runners aiming for under 55 mins.  I finally got round in 1 hour 57 minutes with 3 minutes to spare from the cut-off time!  I came 3rd last out of all the runners, demoralised, demotivated and very sore.  More sore than my half marathon in November...not sure why!  Perhaps due to lack of fitness.  Roll on the 12 mile run next Sunday I say!
