The aim of Bridge is to enhance women's knowledge and skills to enable them to have greater access to academic and vocational opportunities. The Project works to increase womens' confidence and self esteem and support their personal development.
We aim to put women in touch with each other in order to share their experiences, identify skills they already have and learn new skills together.
We hope to encourage women to explore their position in society and how social and cultural constructs determine their roles and deny them access to educational opportunities.
We hope that the work of the Project with other organisations and agencies will raise general awareness of the ways in which gender, class, impairment and race affect women and prevent them reaching their full potential.
We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all women in which they can exercise as much control as possible over their own lives and learning activities. We welcome women volunteers who play a significant role in the day to day organisation of the Project. Membershop of the Board of Directors enables women to make decisions about the overall policy and management of Bridge. Bridge welcomes all women!
