When we spend two pounds on a Fairtrade Coffee most of this should filter down directly to the person who cultivated the coffee in Uganda, Kenya, Ethopia, and so forth. There should be no direct emphasis for middle persons between the consumer and producer. Tesco, Sainsbury, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose, M&S, for example, could ensure that the gap between consumer and producer is limited and that profits are passed on down to the latter.
