End Child Poverty

Are you going to be in London this weekend - 4 October - helping to end child poverty?

According to a high profile campaign - End Child Poverty - 3.9 million children - one in three - are currently living in poverty in the UK, one of the highest rates in the industrialised world. This is a shocking figure given the wealth of our nation.

The campaign says that poverty can have a profound impact on the child, their family, and the rest of society. It often sets in motion a deepening spiral of social exclusion, creating problems in education, employment, mental and physical health and social interaction.

But the important point it that it's not inevitable, there are measures that can be taken to rectify the situation.

As a result the campaign is organising a big event on Saturday 4th October called Keep the Promise.

More on the event here

The March starts from Lambeth Bridge @ 12.30 pm, and then it all kicks off in Trafalgar Square from 1.00 pm.
