Campaigning Awards

Grassroots campaigns are now being invited to apply for the 2007 awards offered by the Sheila McKechnie Foundation, a charity which offers help and support to campaigners.

The foundation offers grassroots campaigners and those new to the field a development package of in-depth know how on campaigning and the chance to learn from experienced campaigners.

In offering advice and training, the foundation says it wants to invest in the next generation of campaigners to help them tackle issues such as social exclusion and conflict resolution.

If you are campaigning on any issue, as an individual or as a group, even if you don't regard yourself as a professional campaigner, you should apply!

There are nine award categories:
Conflict Resolution

Consumer Action

Economic Justice

Environment

Health and Social Care

International Campaigner

Social Inclusion

Transport

Young Campaigners (18-24) in memory og Guy Hughes

The deadline for applications is 18th December 2006.
For more information about the awards and to read about last year's winners go to the Sheila McKechnie Foundation website,  email awards@sheilamckechnie.org.uk, or call 0207 770 7892.
