Six characters in search of a .... home. A new documentary on the Channel called Dreams of Home looks at homelessness from the ground up and asks why there are so many homeless people in the fourth richest country in the world.
The film goes out on the streets to hear the stories of how people become homeless, what they face in trying to get accommodation, and why some of them end up staying on the streets for the long term.

No Home Season
The film supports the BBC No Home season which runs from 25th Nov-8th Dec and highlights homelessness and exclusion in Britain. The season is kicked off by a documentary called Skint and features in programmes on TV, Radio and online.
The website BBC No Home features stories from people, across the UK, who have experienced homelessness and individuals share their experiences of volunteering enables you to sign up to volunteer with homeless organisations.

Channel Films
 Jo wants to study To get a real insight into what it's like to be homeless, watch and hear the stories in Dreams of Home where six individuals from different parts of Britain explain their predicament.
Robert talks of his homeless days, drinking heavily with his friends in a graveyard. Shane's a teenager from Selby, who's been pushed around from place to place.
Martin once owned his own property, but failed to keep up his mortgage payments and has lived in a field since 1991. And Jo from Stoke, who's now living in a YMCA and wants to study, while her children live with family members.
