About 'Give More, Get More'

Give More, Get MorePeople get as much out of volunteering as they give.

Whatever your age, background, qualifications, physical, sensory or learning capabilities, you can do your part to make your community a better place. Getting involved will make a difference to everyones life, including your own.

Give whatever time you can spare and you will be amazed at what you can achieve. Even an hour a week can make a huge difference.

Everyone has abilities and qualities that are useful in some way, so anyone can volunteer.

Give More, Get More 'Give More, Get More, Volunteer' raises awareness of the benefits of volunteering and how exciting it is for individuals who get involved. Information includes updates on changes for people with benefits, which should no longer be a barrier to getting involved and supporting local community groups.

People on benefits can now claim reasonable expenses made whilst volunteering (eg lunch and travel), without this affecting their benefits, as was the case previously.

Give More, Get MoreThe 'Give More, Get More, Volunteer' campaign is especially targeting people with no formal qualifications, people with disabilities and those from ethnic minorities to be aware of, and excited about, the oppurtunity to volunteer.

So to get involved call 08000 681 800, visit www.do-it.org or go to your local Volunteer Centre.

Give More, Get MoreVolunteering for All is the name of the Governments strategy to reduce barriers to volunteering for excluded groups. The Media Trust is the Project Partner, and is funded by the Cabinet Office to produce a series of targeted campaigns to meet the objectives of Volunteering for All.

"Over half of all adults in England and Wales volunteer on a monthly basis, but too many of the most vulnerable members of our society are missing out on the benefits volunteering can bring - to build skills, qualifications and self confidence.

Volunteering is an extremely powerful way to help people rise to the challenges they face on a daily basis, and enables them to use their experiences to empower others."
