|
Community Channel has appointed Adam Perry to be its new Head of Programmes and Campaigns, starting January 15th.
Adam was most recently Creative Director at World of Wonder for five years, where he oversaw and developed a range of shows, including Getting On The Property Ladder, Ted Bundy: Natural Porn Killer and C4’s infamous Penis Week.
Before that he was Controller of Special Events at Five at launch under Dawn Airey. He commissioned and co-ordinated a range of events including Naked Jungle, Miss World, Hospital Live and Give 5 to name a few.
He will report to Channel Controller Nick Ware. His key task will be to lead the planning and implementation of all campaigns, seasons and themes for the channel, ensuring maximum audience response and impact. He will also commission and executive produce a range of programming, working more closely with charities and other outside organisations.
Nick Ware, Channel Controller, said: “We’re delighted that someone of Adam’s experience is joining the channel and I’m sure that he will take the channel to the next level, increasing its campaigning output and its overall impact to its audience.”
In addition, the channel has announced that it has acquired a 48 x 30’ show called THINKGREEN from Australian production and distribution company World Wide Entertainment. THINKGREEN is an informative and empowering half hour magazine style eco series dedicated to preserving the future of the planet.
It covers topics such as Green House (eco friendly homes), Green Store (eco friendly products), Go Green (transport/alternative energy), Green Planet (helping the planet) and Green Living (sustainable living).
The deal was negotiated by Angie Mee (former freelance acquisitions executive) and Community Channel’s Head of Acquisitions Abigail Dankwa. The series is set to premiere in March 2007 as part of the channel’s Environment Month.
