On the Tigers' Trail

when is this on?

This isn't scheduled anytime soon.

Life on the streets is a tough way to live and a way out is what vulnerable street children need to regain security, stability and prospects.

The boys of Tiger's Club in Kampala, Uganda - a charity to help street children - got an opportunity of a lifetime when they appeared in the new feature film The Last King of Scotland which premieres on 12th January 2007.

The boys worked alongside major actors, Forest Whitaker and James McAvoy, and the charity itself now receives support from the feature film's producers.

This documentary -- On The Tigers Trail -- narrated by McAvoy looks at the reality for the Tiger's Club members after the filming's stopped and for those children still living on the street.

It explores why children end up on the street - war, violence and disease which create orphans with nowhere to go.

Tiger's Club offers a future
And it also looks at the hope offered by organisations like Retrak, a UK-registered charity, which set up Tiger's Club in 1994 and has developed it into a project which gives children a lifeline out of the gutter and helps them discover their potential and find self-belief.

There are 100 million street children worldwide, a staggering number.  Those featured in On The Tigers Trail at least have a chance to get their lives back on track against all odds.
