Meet Danny and Ashley, Arfa, Ivan, Collette and Andy!
They're the amazing young stars of a new programme showing on the Channel, and they have unusual stories to tell.
Danny and Ashley
Danny and Ashley - both on a bit of a downward spiral - have transformed their lives by working with the National Trust. After volunteering, they were selected for the Young Heritage Leaders project and have been to Snowdonia to learn how to manage conservation tasks.
Both have found a passion for the outdoors which has taken Danny away from a life of drugs and crime and Ashley away from months of unemployment. Danny, who once laughed at the idea of volunteering, is now thinking of a career in conservation.
Arfa
A fan of the Hamara Family Project Arfa is a 17-year old fashion student who spends her spare time helping out at the Hamara Family Project. With her sister, Afshan, Arfa helps with the outings organised by this Barnardo's scheme for people with disabilities.
One of the organisers says Arfa's bubbly personality and her skill at reading the trigger signs of her disabled companions are ideal qualities for one of their volunteers. She herself says helping others makes her feel good about herself.
Ivan
Communicating for the National Trust In Birmingham, Ivan has made fantastic strides thanks to an innovative National Trust scheme that trains and provides Tour Guides for Victorian back-to-back houses.
It's made him become a better communicator, given him lots of confidence and he's now able to push himself forward in a way he couldn't do before. As a result, he's going to catch up on his education and plans to go to university.
Collette
Sharing her fun with children We meet Collette as she's preparing for a job interview at a pre-school playgroup, Wiggles and Jiggles. She's being advised by Claire Starling from Westminster Employment, which is dedicated to seeking employment for people with disabilities.
Claire has seen Collette develop into an engaging, cheeky person who is able to share her love of singing and music with the youngsters she hopes to work with at Wiggles and Jiggles.
Andy
In Dudley, Andy has worked with Barnardo's Wheels Project for several years and it's changed his life beyond recognition. The project is training 80 young people in mechanics.
Wheels has opened up new opportunities They rebuild cars for grass track racing and it's an activity that they clearly love. The young mechanics also get personal guidance, and for many the project provides the family they never had.
Andy is now spreading his wings further and learning to be a tree surgeon. He says the whole experience has turned him from being 'useless' and lacking confidence, to giving him an exciting new career.
