This month we're having a Get Active theme on the Channel.

Britain’s hottest ethical lifestyle magazine – New Consumer TV - launches a 12-part series on Community Channel. Over the coming year, the Channel will bring viewers up to date with the latest ethical issues.

We will also be broadcasting live the centenary celebrations of the World Scout movement starting on 28 July, when the "One World, One Promise" Jamboree unites over 40,000 Scouts from over 200 countries. Visit http://www.thejamboree.org/ for more information.

A new film - Up For Arts - on Friday 20 July, launches our July campaign about arts and crafts.

One Sunday each month - our Take Action Sunday -  the Channel will focus on programmes that give viewers the chance to learn about a range of issues that may affect them, and inspire them to get involved.

The first of these on 1st July is dedicated to health with films: Saving a Stranger, Young Health and Louie, Me and Hepatitis C.

There are an estimated 500,000 people in the UK with hepatitis C (about ten times the number of people with HIV). Of those, less than 1% are receiving treatment. This moving documentary follows Hep C sufferer Gemma Peppe as she juggles treatment with looking after her son Louie. more...

Eleni Andreadis travels to the Eden Project in Cornwall to discover what the major motor manufacturers are doing to provide sexy green alternatives to CO2-heavy car engines. She also climbs the only wind turbine in the country open to the public, in Swaffham, Norfolk. A single turbine provides around 1,000 homes with electricity each year.  more...

This powerful documentary follows former police officer, Chris Payne, as he investigates human trafficking for prostitution. For a decade, he has been haunted by the case of ‘Nikkie’, a young Thai girl deported after she was discovered in a Sydney brothel. Payne follows the trail of evidence from Australia to Thailand. Along the way, he meets the parents of another Thai ‘sex slave’ whose death in a Sydney immigration detention centre made headlines. Trafficked provides a disturbing insight into the international sex trade.

Community Channel broadcasts exclusive live coverage of the largest youth event in the world - the 21st World Scout Jamboree in celebration of 100 years of scouting.
