A new month long campaign launched in June, with the ambitious aim of getting rid of plastic bags and packaging by Christmas.  It's a really worthwhile aim which we can all do a bit towards achieving.   Watch the video clip

With the help of the campaign organisers, We Are What We Do, here are the Channel's top five tips for a plastic-neutral world:

1. Decline a plastic bag at your supermarket.

2. Keep a reusable bag by your front door.

3. Nine out of 10 plastic bags live under the sink.  Reuse them at home for storage.

4. Join the thousands of people opting for reusable bags in organic cotton or heavyweight hemp.

5. Give a reusable bag to a friend - with the mantra Refuse, Reduce, Reuse!
