Coming Up ... in August

Highlights in August include programmes about adventure, exploration and the big outdoors.

First up on 1st Aug is live coverage of the sunrise ceremony marking Scouting's centenary.

We follow celebrities who do charity work often in inaccessible places in Celebs Do Charity week. We mark 60 years of Indian independence with a new series, Spice of Life, and a family's return called Way Back Home.

Our Sports weekend sees the premiere of Your Game, the climax to the UK's biggest national street football competition run by the BBC and the Football Foundation.

And a major highlight of the month is the premiere of Tommy's Story in which we hear the true story of Tommy Jessop, a budding actor with Down's Syndrome, who has landed his first big TV role in BBC One's Holby City.
