Beeston is a finalist in the Urban Community category. In this inner city neighbourhood, a cross-section of the local community is working to transform it. A dedicated band of locals want to inject green inspiration into their cityscape.

Rugby is a finalist in the Small City / Large Town category. In the true spirit of ‘community’, council workers and residents alike are mucking in to make Rugby a better place. Some unusual projects are being set up to get one over the competition, including a ‘storytelling tree’ with characters from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ carved into it, in homage to Lewis Carroll who attended Rugby School.
