Volunteer Taster Sessions

Our FREE volunteer taster sessions can help provide a taste of what it is like to be a volunteer. You will be able to see first hand how easy it is to get involved, how rewarding and fun it can be and how it can help you improve your skills, get some training, and enjoy new experiences.


 - What are the Taster Sessions and Where?

There are a variety of national charities and organisations running sessions during October, each lasting 2-4 hours and offering a range of exciting volunteer opportunities.

Dates, Times, Activites and How to Register for the Taster sessions as follows:


 - North West of England

 - North East of England

 - Yorkshire & Humber

 - London


Some will provide a bite-sized training session; some will include demonstrations and practical activities such as role-play or a 'hands on' sampling of volunteer work. All sessions will enable you to really get an idea of what volunteering is like.



 - Hosting Organisations

Organisations hosting taster sessions include  British Red Cross --- UK online centres --- Mencap --- The Food Chain --- Victim Support Co Durham --- Voluteer Reading Help --- Volunteer Centre Blackburn with Darwen --- Voluteer Centre Tameside, and several other groups.


 - Certificate

New opportunities
Each person who registers and comes to a session will receive a certificate of attendance from the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN). And you’ll be able to find out about continuing to volunteer for skills in your local area.
