Step 2: Skills through Volunteering

Mountain
Aiming high
Volunteers come from all walks of life and are active in almost every aspect of society that you can think of - visiting elderly people, performing in a local play, organising a meeting or coaching young athletes.

However you choose to get involved you could be gaining new skills, getting relevant training and experience and improving your job prospects.

Volunteering can provide you with opportunity to take control, gain new skills, meet new people, enjoy new experiences and may provide the first step back into learning.

Did you know?

• You don’t need qualifications to volunteer for most things

• Volunteering can fit in around your current commitments and lifestyle

• Volunteering will not affect your benefits. See your adviser at JobCentre Plus for more details

So what are you waiting for?
Your future is in your hands.
