Black History Month

It's Black History Month this October, so to celebrate we're bringing you a season of programmes all about black culture and heritage.

Black History and Me - Watch online now!
Back in July Media Trust joined forces with Channel 4 to offer young people the chance to make a short film celebrating Black History Month. The top winning ideas have been brought together in Black History and Me, alongside a making-of documentary following their filmmaking journey.
Batty Man - Monday 18th at 9pm
Comedian and actor Stephen K Amos uses his own experiences as a black gay man to explore why homophobia still exists in his own community.
Sticks & Stones - Tuesday 19th at 9pm
Ex-So Solid Crew rapper Asher D (AKA Ashley Walters) explores how and why racially offensive language has become such an ingrained part of our lives.
The Last Slave - Wednesday 20th at 9pm
David Monteith, a young black Londoner, uncovers the story of his ancestor Archibald, who was among the last slaves transported by the British from Africa to Jamaica.
What's Killin’ Darcus Howe? - Tuesday 26th at 9pm
A hard-hitting documentary following an extraordinary six months in the life of Darcus Howe as he attempts to raise awareness of prostate cancer, a disease which affects one in four black men.
Who you callin’ a N*****? - Wednesday 27th at 10pm
Darcus Howe reports on a netherworld of unreported violence and prejudice between Britain's ethnic minority groups.
