Budding young TV presenters hoping for a lucky screen break need look no further. Charge is launching a competition where the winner gets the chance to present an hour-long show on national television.

The winner will host an episode of Charge on Community Channel - a weekly programme devoted to young people. It has dynamic and social-engaging content on the issues that really matter to them, as well as inspiring them to make a difference to the world around them through volunteering.

To enter, 18-25 year-olds must record themselves – on a mobile phone or video recorder – reading a prepared script, which can be found on www.chargetv.co.uk.

As well as reading the script, entrants will also be asked to talk about a social issue that matters to them.  They can then upload their audition to the Charge website, where the public will vote for the winner.

The competition runs for six weeks, from Monday, 24 September to Friday, 2 November, and is an exciting opportunity for young people from all over the country to appear on national telly – previous presenting experience isn’t necessary.

Charge Producer, Ray Addison, said: ‘Whether through music videos, home made films or mobile-filmed clips, Charge is made by the youth, for the youth. Charge’s message is clear: get involved and volunteer. The presenter competition is a great way to voluteer your time, and increase your career prospects at the same time.’

More information can be found on the Charge website, www.chargetv.co.uk. Charge is broadcast everyday on Community Channel at 6.00pm and 10.00pm.
