We are looking for a Volunteer Scheduling Assistant to work 2.5 days per week (Wed - Fri) for a minimum of 3 months. 

Background

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining experience in a broadcast television environment.  We are looking for enthusiastic people with an interest in television and experience in an office environment, with excellent administration and computer skills.

Responsibilities & Specific Tasks include:

• Open and prepare the daily logs for the Presentation Scheduler
• Update and maintain the scheduling database.
• Update and maintain list of available programmes.
• Update and maintain COI and advertisements listings for channel
• Inform Filmmakers of TX dates and times.
• On occasion, create and send necessary reports
• Keep office clean and tidy
• Respond quickly and effectively to all enquiries during office hours
• Keep office clean and tidy

Person Specification

• Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
• Good literacy skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to juggle many projects and work to tight deadlines
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office and confident using email and the internet
• Experience of using databases an advantage
• Knowledge of the media and charity industries an advantage

The Media Trust and Community Channel are tightly resourced, tightly staffed organisations. All employees are therefore expected to show flexibility in their work.  You will on occasion be expected to carry out duties not specified in your job description - of both more senior and more junior staff.
