What's Fairtrade

Fairtrade - a system that ensures producers and small scale farmers in developing countries get a fair deal and a sustainable livelihood through trade - has seen rapid growth.

More than one million producers and workers are now involved in Fairtrade schemes, and in the UK there are more than 2,000 retail products carrying the Fairtrade Mark - from tea and coffee to cotton clothing and coconuts.

For more information about Fairtrade and organisations campaigning for a fairer deal for farmers, download our PDF Fairtrade Factsheet.

Our Programmes

Our programmes in Fairtrade Fortnight reflect the benefits for farmers in films like More Than Food on the Table which profiles the coffee cooperative COMUCAP in Honduras and how it gives poor rural communities a future.

Films like Against the Trade Trap explain the inequalities of international trade which prevent developing countries trading their way out of poverty.

Our Competition

Take part in our Fairtrade Competition which starts on Monday 25th Feb and is in collaboration with Divine Chocolate who have kindly provided a hamper of Fairtrade chocolate as a prize!  Watch this space!
