Volunteer Films are short awareness raising films made for small charities, by volunteers in the TV/Video production industry at an affordable price.

Now in its fourth year, the project has supported over 75 small not-for-profit organisations and has seen the equivalent of £750,000 donated in time and resources from the media industry.

All films are broadcast on Community Channel.

Volunteer Films 2008
This series is currently recruiting volunteers and charities for its fourth series. The project begins in April 2008 and will run through to September, with films being broadcast on Community Channel around Christmas time.

Volunteer Films 2007-08
Volunteer Films 2007-08 features films for charities such as Miscarriage Association, UK Youth Parliament and Kids' Cookery School. A selection of films were made for Media Trust’s It’s All About U campaign and were subsequently broadcast on BBC Big Screens.

A 30 second promo was produced for BeatBullying in time for Anti-bullying week in November and formed part of the YouTube/anti-bullying page.

There’s been the odd celebrity appearance too in the films, with voice over recorded by DJ Spoony and Jon Snow. Guest appearances included sports personalities Kathy Grainger and Tanni Gray Thompson and Bollywood Actress Juhi Chawla

Leading commercials company PINK, went the extra mile for Half Moon Young People’s Theatre Group and filmed a beautifully choreographed advert on 16mm to the tune of Louis Armstrong’s ‘Wonderful World’. It went on to win silver in The British Television Advertising Awards.
