Your News is a news programme made by people with learning disabilities and learning difficulties.

The Presenters

Andrew and Olivia
Presenters: Andrew and Olivia
The programme is presented by ITN's Olivia Hill and Andrew Lee.

Olivia Hill
Olivia is an ITN presenter who has presented a BAFTA and RTS award winning children's news programme called Espresso Newsbites.  She graduated from Cambridge University and studied TV current affairs and journalism at City University before joining ITN where she has gained experience in live presenting, producing and editing.

Nicholas Wheeler, Managing Director of ITN On, says of Olivia ‘it is not only [her] presenting skills that put her in the forefront of modern media, she epitomises the modern multi skilled, technically capable journalist writing scripts, cutting video, voicing bulletins and … presenting as well.

Andrew Lee
Andrew is the Director of People First (Self Advocacy), a campaigning organisation run and controlled by people with learning difficulties.  It has a national membership and has influenced government on a number of key issues. 

Andrew has been active in the self advocacy movement since 1994.  He was a founder member of POWER, the advocacy agency in Hertfordshire, has been an independent lay assessor inspecting residential homes, and a member of North Herts People First for 12 years.

Lloyd Brown

He believes the challenge is to make sure that individual people with learning difficulties know theyr rights and are aware of laws that affect them.


The Reporters
The learning disabled roving reporters in this edition of Your News are Ciara Evans who works for Mencap.  In the programme she reports from the Wild Bunch night club on the love life of people with learning disabilities. 

The other reporter is Lloyd Brown.  Lloyd's an Arsenal supporter and reports on the football club's community sports initiative involving people with learning disabilities.

The reporters were mentored by professional broadcasters during the production of Your News.
