This month's new programmes include Hip Hop Opera about gun crime, Not Waving But Drowning on the impact of climate change in Bangladesh, and a documentary on asylum seekers in Glasgow called Asylum: A Place of Refuge.

We're also broadcasting 25 stunning short films showing the work of diverse small charities from conservation to kids cookery.  They're part of our Volunteer Films project.

A portrait of Roma activist and musician Miro Simko who came from Czech Republic to Newcastle upon Tyne to improve his life.  It shows his struggle and dedication to help not only his own family in their new life, but their community as well.

This film tells the stories of seven families who are battling to survive the devastating impact of climate change in the coastal region of Bangladesh. They have lost land, homes and livelihoods and face a bleak future.

Hip Hop Opera - Sat 7 June @ 10.00pm
Hip Hop Opera is a hard-hitting tale exploring the causes and effects of gun crime. Using drama it traces the events leading up to an outbreak of urban gun violence, and features interviews with parents who've lost children to gun crime. It presents a tale of morality and conflict resolution and shows how confrontation can be resolved safely by compromise and respect. Watch the trail.

World Naked Bike Ride - Fri 13 June @ 9pm
There is one day of the year you can leave your inhibitions at home and cycle through the streets naked and not be arrested. It is the one-day of the year when full nudity is permitted by the police, all in the name of 'global warming'. More than 200 cyclists take part. Watch the trail.

Three stories about being a refugee - Arrivals, One Way Ticket, and Refugee People - in which survivors of the 1939 Kindertransport (the evacuation of Jewish children) from Nazi Germany talk about their experiences along with more recent young refugees from Afghanistan and Somalia.

Asylum - A Place of Refuge - Fri 20 June @ 8pm
To mark Refugee Week 16-22 June 2008, we're showing this film which tells the stories of five asylum seekers in Glasgow. It explores each person’s story and the outcomes of their asylum applications - some happy and some not so happy. This documentary also offers an interesting insight into the diverse refugee culture in the UK.  Watch the trail.
