In our July highlights, musician turned farmer, Alex James, ex-Blur band member, discovers valuable lessons in farming in Burkina Faso, a country already combatting the effects of climate change. 

And there's another look into the future in Hydrogen Economy as Iceland tries to wean itself off dwindling fossil fuels. 

To mark Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday, we're showing Meeting Mandela, an inspiring programme in which four young people get a unique opportunity to meet the great man.

This documentary looks at work being done to  rebuild, support and change the lives of vulnerable young people in Rwanda - particularly young people who have been orphaned, neglected or are facing difficult circumstances as a result of the 1994 genocide.

Alex James in Africa - Farming for a Future - on Fri 4 July @ 8.30 pm
Alex James, farmer and former Blur band member, travels to Burkina Faso, West Africa with Christian Aid to find out about radical farming techniques developed there to counter the harsh effects of climate change.  Informative and entertaining. Don't miss it.  Watch the programme online
