The new series - Series 3 - of Charge is introduced by James Pyke and Luke Toyne and includes two new regular features - Truetube and On Point.

This week Truetube asks 'Is Prison Pointless'?  It hears what people on the street think about crime and punishment.  Is prison - or crook uni - the best way to punish and rehabilitate offenders.

It also takes a look at punishment down the ages - from flagellation to capital punishment which is still used in 55 countries.

But the real experience comes from two young ex-cons who talk about their time inside and how it affected them.  There's an in-depth interview with Icey aka Dirty Cash about being inside and what made him change.

Rob Allen of the International Centre for Prison Studies looks at the pros and cons of the alternatives to prison.
