Orange Rockcorps Charge Competition - Press Release

Do you want the chance to have your film shown on Channel 4?

Orange Rockcorps and Charge on Community Channel are launching a competition to give young filmmakers the chance to make a film showcasing their quest for a ticket to the live Orange Rockcorps concert. The only way in to the exclusive concert is to volunteer for 4 hours. Three films will be made and one will get broadcast on Channel 4.

The three chosen entrants will get a £500 grant to create their film, will be invited to an all expenses paid workshop in London and will be assigned a film industry mentor who will work closely with them to make their film a reality.

The winner will be announced at the Orange Rockcorps concert, get their film shown on TV and online and receive a Sony Ericsson handset.

TO ENTER:
Visit www.orangerockcorps.co.uk and join up for 4 hours of volunteering and an exclusive concert ticket. Then go to www.communitychannel.org/chargecompetition to tell us about your volunteering experience and how you would bring this to life on film.

The closing date for the competition is Thursday 21st August 2008 at 5pm.

The winning film will be chosen by an expert panel of representatives from the media industry and will be broadcast on Channel 4 in October 2008. All three films will be showcased on Charge, Community Channel’s youth platform.

Orange Rockcorps harnesses the power of music to inspire 16-25 year olds to take part in volunteering by producing concerts for which the only way in is to volunteer for 4 hours. Charge on Community Channel funds, trains and enables young people to make their own films and can be found at www.communitychannel.org/charge and on Sky 539, Virgin TV 233 and Freeview 87.
