Brief Programme Summary
A Different Life: Matthew
The film follows a 14 year old boy called Matthew who suffers from a brittle bone disease that causes him to look like a toddler. He struggles with walking and getting around.
A Difference Made
This film profiles 3 people with disabilities who have accessed volunteering opportunities successfully. They talk about what they do, their experiences and how volunteering has helped their lives.
Butterfly
Gemma Sherry is an ordinary woman, with an extraordinary condition. She suffers from Albinism, meaning that she has no pigment in her hair or skin and suffers from poor eyesight.
Coping Strategies
Actor Bill Nighy makes a guest appearance in this brilliant film by the Moment by Moment Theatre Company of actors with and without learning disabilities. It is a surreal comedy which explores what happens when Shahid, fed up with the tag ‘learning disabled’, leaves his doting mother for the allure of love, life and freedom in an independent home.
Closing the Gap
A powerful documentary depicting the real life experiences of four people with learning disabilities and/or mental health problems whilst in health care.
Danny's Beautiful Life
Danny Nasipour is 27 and has Down's Syndrome. This is the story of how he lives a full, independent life and makes use of his many artistic talents.
Extra Time
An inspiring film on gaining new skills by volunteering in football.
Helping Others Can Help U
Sophie Morgan talks to people with disabilities who've given up their time to help others. She introduces the work of the Back Up Trust, the Middleton Park Equestrian Centre, Breakthrough UK, and others.
In Focus
Introduced by Richard Attenborough, In Focus features a range of disabled film makers talking about their experiences of working in the film industry.

Louie, Me and Hepatitis C
The story of Gemma Peppe's struggle with her diagnosis of Hep C and the impact it has on her life with her son, Louie.
Mad For Music
A series of 5 minute shorts exploring the power of music on mental health. Heather, James, Christopher, Helen and Wayne talk about the impact of a piece of chosen music on their state of mind.
Mother and Son
A mother's engaging account of bringing up her autistic son, Charlie. She recount the struggles and triumphs, the anger and joy. A relationship told in photographs and conversation.
Ups Not Downs
This personal documentary shows how one ordinary family have dealt with bringing up Joe who was born with Down's syndrome. The reality is far better than their initial expectations.
