Open i 6

Open i is a video magazine programme for people who are deaf or hearing impaired. As part of the government’s commitment to bring disabled people into the mainstream of society, the programme will provide regular and accessible information about the latest government initiatives.

The Community Channel is showing Open i 6 and the subjects covered are: Job Centre Plus (about the New Deal for Disabled People scheme), Pension Credits, Safe Internet Shopping, 5 A DAY (healthy eating campaign) and the Inland Revenue. You can find out more about the programmes below.

Jobcentre Plus – New Deal for Disabled People shows how new Jobcentre Plus offices are opening up all over the country with the aim of helping people back into work and dealing with any benefit enquiries.
