You Can Volunteer

This short film looks at what people with learning disabilities can gain from volunteering.

The possibilities are huge as Mencap, the leading organisation for people with learning disabilities, outlines.

Volunteering can be for a one off event or as a way to find a longer term role in an organisation.  It can give you experience, free training and qualifications.

From recycling, to helping older people with their meals, helping children to read and write, all the participants in this film testify to the confidence, new skills and good feeling that volunteering has given them.

Training workshops are provided so that volunteers understand other people's difficulties, particularly problems with communication.

And volunteering is for all ages, for young and old.
