Your Sport - 1 December

This week on Your Sport we see the impact a new skatepark has made in Dartford, visit the Wheelpower National Junior Disability Games and see a Brazilian grassroots football project in action.

Skatepark Success

Back in 2001 Dave Martin started campaigning to get a skatepark built in Dartford. After 5 years of struggling, he found funding through the Barclays Spaces for Sport initiative. The benefits of his hard work are plain to see.

Wheelpower

The Norwich Union National Junior Games are one of the highlights of the disability sports calendar. We see how they aim to unearth new talent and introduce disabled young people to a variety of sporting opportunities.

Grassroots Education

Brazil is the world’s most successful footballing nation and the game has great influence in the country. Educational programmes use it to help improve the lives of young people. We visit Eprocad, an example of one such project.
