Where Has My School Gone?

watch nowwatch now

A portrait of a special primary school and the story of its demise. This film charts the role the school played in the community and the impact it had on former pupils, teachers and parents.

The story of West Jesmond Primary School in Newcastle is told by one of the creators of the famous Viz comic, Chris Donald.

He and others recall the significant part the building played in the Newcastle community before it was closed and demolished.

In this moving documentary different generations remember the very special atmosphere of the school, teachers they worked with, games they used to play and friendships they started there.

The school has seen better and worse times, but when it finally came down it marked the end of an era for some Newcastle citizens.
