Broadcaster and journalist Lou Bolch interviews internationally acclaimed documentary film-maker Brian Woods and we get a chance to see some of his award winning films. On Community Channel on starting on Monday 20 April @ 9pm

Awarded and nominated for a range of international awards, Lou talks to Brian about the inspiration for his work and its focus on human rights.

In conjunction with this interview, Community Channel is broadcasting four of Brian’s remarkable documentaries: China’s Stolen Children, Slavery: A Global Investigation, Evicted and Return to the Dying Rooms.

  • Return to the Dying Rooms - Mon 20 April @ 9pm
    In 1995 Brian Woods and Kate Blewett uncovered the systematic neglect of abandoned babies in orphanages in China in the critically acclaimed documentary The Dying Rooms.  This documentary is a follow up to this powerful film.  Followed by When Lou Met ... Brian Woods Mon 20 April @ 10pm

  • China's Stolen Children - Tue 21 April @ 9pm
    Ten years after the film The Dying Rooms, about the neglect of abandoned babies in Chinese orphanages, the cameras return to a very different China where the infamous 'One Child' policy has the horrific side effect of a boom in stolen children.  Followed by When Lou Met ... Brian Woods Tue 21 April @ 10.30pm
    


  • Slavery: A Global Investigation - Wed 22 April @ 9pm
    Slavery is banned around the world, yet despite this there are still slaves in the world today. This film explores three separate industries where slavery can still be found: the carpet industry in northern India, the cocoa industry in the Ivory Coast, and domestic slavery in Britain and the U.S.  Followed by When Lou Met ... Brian Woods Wed 22 April @ 10.20pm

  • Evicted - Thurs 23 April @ 9pm
    Every day, families across Britain face the frightening reality of homelessness.  Director Brian Woods uses the experiences of three young girls and their families to show the human side of this story. Followed by When Lou Met ... Brian Woods Thurs 23 April @ 10pm.
