This short film called Finding the Words highlights the work of the Child Death Helpline.

It's a helpline for anyone affected by the death of a child of any age, from pre-birth to adult, under any circumstances, however recently or long ago.

The film also shows how volunteers who are all bereaved parents are able to provide a sympathetic and understanding response to those needing to talk.

Writer and broadcaster Bel Mooney explains the work of Child Death Helpline and service users talk about how they've been helped.

The Helpline is a national freephone number: 0800 282 986

It is open every day throughout the year at the following times:

  • Every evening 7pm - 10pm
  • Monday to Friday 10am - 1pm
  • Tuesday and Wednesday 1pm - 4pm

For more information please visit the dedicated web site at: http://www.childdeathhelpline.org.uk/
