11 MILLION

watch nowwatch now

In this film children and young people from Merseyside, Manchester and Birmingham talk frankly about gun and knife crime.

The film gives their perspective on this hot topic

Four per cent of 12 to 17 year olds have carried a knife either now or in the past. And 18 per cent of 16 and 17 year olds feel unsafe in their area.

More than half young people - 52 per cent - think that those caught carrying knives should be educated about the risks and dangers.

To look at the full picture behind the statistics download the report - pdf Standing Together

The children and young people in this film worked with 11 MILLION, the organisation led by the Children’s Commissioner for England, Sir Al Aynsley-Green, for more than a year on its gun and knife crime project, so that their views could be promoted.

To find out more about the issues that children and young people are talking about go to the 11 MILLION website.

The film was produced by the Media Trust.
