Out of the Box

"I might use this box to talk to you, but please don't put me in one because of it," says Michael Reed summing up his situation.

Michael is a young man with communication difficulties but he's not short on ambition. He uses a voice box to communicate, and wants to be a film director and animator.

Don't put me in a box just because I speak with one

This film made by Charly Conquest explores the gulf between his own belief in himself and society's expectations of him.

This project is part of Northern Film & Media's Capture 2009 scheme, which supports films inspired by communities and people in the North East of England.

Capture 2009 is a partnership between Northern Film & Media, Community Channel and Channel 4's FourDocs.
