Pig Business

The film Pig Business investigates modern intensive pig farming and the damaging impact it has on the quality of our food, our own health and the environment.

Investigating pig farming
It depicts the shocking details (that you won’t see on the label) of how the often illegal methods used by major corporations to produce the billions of tonnes of pig meat consumed in the UK not only causes needless animal suffering but threatens human health, the global environment and the livelihoods of UK pig farmers.

Ecological campaigner Tracy Worcester set out to discover who was paying the true price for the cheap imported pork for sale in Britain’s supermarkets.

pig businessHer investigation took her to farms in Europe and America and where she reveals that that these huge meat factories overcrowd and mistreat the animals, put small farmers out of business, and pollute the water and air, endangering the health of local residents and consumers.

According to Pig Business, schools, prisons, hospitals are among organisations which serve illegally produced pork or pork products such as bacon, ham and sausages. This is forcing UK farmers to break welfare laws in order to compete with cheap EU imports.
