Glastonbury: Sun, Sweat & Charity

com chan crewThe Community Channel film crew recently returned from sunny Glastonbury Festival having been there for five days. Other than catching a good tan they also captured some great footage of the charity and volunteering side of the world's favourite music festival.

Whilst the crowds flocked to see performances by Gorillaz, Muse, Snoop Dogg and Stevie Wonder, Community Channel were busy filming the hard work happening by the unsung heroes at organisations such as WaterAid, Oxfam, Greenpeace, National Trust and Shelter to name a few.

Glastonbury: Sun, Sweat and Charity celebrate's the festival's impressive 40-year history of achievements in the field (pun intended) of charity, campaigning and fundraising. Featuring exclusive interviews with Billy Bragg, Michael Eavis, a pregnant woman from White Ribbon Alliance who gave birth at the festival and the Green Police 'arresting' festival-goers, the programme is a great opportunity to witness the side of Glastonbury most people never get to see.

We met up with Oxfam, Greenpeace and Wateraid, Glastonbury Festival’s charity partners, who are as much a part of the festival as the Pyramid Stage and the Stone Circle.

It was National Trust’s first year at Glastonbury, so we caught up with the volunteers helping weary festival-goers to relax.
