Together TV

when is this on?

This isn't scheduled anytime soon.
Together TVLaunched in May 2005 by Christian Aid, Together TV was founded to give a voice to the millions of people in the developing world who are rarely given a voice in the media.

The rapid spread of HIV around the World is devastating whole communities and threatening to cripple some of the poorest global economies.

Sub-Saharan Africa is bearing the brunt of the HIV pandemic, with 25 million people infected already. Fast-growing epidemics in Asia and Eastern Europe mean that in these places AIDS could exact an even greater toll.

As part of Community Channel’s AIDS awareness week we are showing four remarkable Together TV films about four remarkable people who have had their lives affected by the virus.

Episode 1: Emmanuel
Orphaned by AIDS, Emmanuel now lives with his grandmother. He describes his life's greatest pleasure, sailing his kite high through the air.

Episode 2: Ayline Dlamini
The inspirational story of Aylline, a grandmother who looked forward to a well-earned retirement from Swaziland's health service. That was before she turned her home into a day centre for AIDS orphans.

Episode 3: Violeta Ross

Bolivian activist Violeta found herself on the edge of society after she was raped and contracted HIV. She is now leading the fight for education about the disease that is killing her country.

Episode 4: Edith Banda
Edith, known as the Zambian Florence Nightingale, became a carer when her daughter died of AIDS. Her actions are seen as deeply symbolic in a community where those with HIV are ostracised.
