Lenny Henry, Tanni Grey-Thompson, John Bird and Victor Adebowale join Jon to discuss what they do to help their communities, why they do it and why we should all get involved.
Made to mark the end of the Year of the Volunteer, each 30 minute programme is dedicated to the extraordinary people who give their time to help others and make a difference to us all.
In the first interview Lenny Henry, comedian and co-founder of Comic Relief, reveals what motivates him, and discusses his commitment to combating poverty in Africa.
Tanni Grey-Thompson, the UK’s greatest paralympic athlete, takes the hot-seat in the second interview. She discusses getting involved in sport and winning a better deal for the disabled.
John Bird, outspoken founder of The Big Issue magazine, is Jon’s third guest. He recalls his own past on the streets, and explains how to really help the homeless.
The series ends with Victor Adebowale, Chief Executive of social care charity, Turning Point, and People’s Peer. He reveals what motivates him and discusses how to really tackle drug misuse.
