Community Channel is showing a second series of the cult Portsmouth based soap opera Chalkhill Lives.
The new episodes in this new series filled with all the drama and tension, mystery and comedy that made the first series such a hit. Starring, written and produced by fresh talent from Portsmouth and the surrounding area, we kick off right where series 1 ended with new head teacher Selina Sharpe reeling from being held at knifepoint by a mystery assailant. As she brings down the full brunt of her wrath on her staff, culprit Gary Squibb sets up a chain of events that is set to bring chaos and heartache to both the Crombie and the Sharpe families.
When an innocent Luke is framed and arrested, he contemplates admitting to the crime to escape his bullies but luckliy forensic tests clear him. Yet Selina Sharpe is not convinced, and refuses to allow Luke to return to her school.
Determined to seek revenge against Squibb, Gavin sets out to restore justice with his camcorder. Yet by underestimating the dangerous Squibbs he becomes the recipient of a brutal beating, which puts his own life in danger and causes surrogate mum Selina to question the validity of her decision-making.
Meanwhile at the Groves, Shelley continues her dalliances with Clint Cotter, unaware of his true dangerous nature. And with her head still firmly in the sand, estranged mother of three Rosie continues to allow her finances to spiral out of control. Addicted to TV’s ‘Shopping Channel’, it is only when she goes to see the bank that she discovers the true extent of her financial debt.
Eldest son Paul receives the opportunity of a lifetime in the guise of a new job, and Russ sets out to improve his finances by entering his cat Muffit into the ‘Annual Chalkhill Cat Contest’. Meanwhile, unbalanced sister Mercedes continues her obsession towards unsuspecting youth worker Stewart. How will it all end? We’re sure that you’ll be biting your nails on the edge of your seats waiting to find out!
