Your Shout about Your Community! 

The Channel was in Manchester for the Sky Festival in August and at the same time we took the pulse of the communities in the North West.

We asked people what they thought about their local area - what they liked, what they didn't like and how they thought it could be improved.

We caught a cross section of voices on video - from the very young to the older generation - having 'their shout' about what bugs them and what should be done to make their particular neighbourhood a better place.

"We need to get better at being active members of society, instead of passive recipients of government policy" was one comment.  Others included: "If you don't complain about things, nothing will be done to improve it, your voice wont be heard".
