What Is Your Charity Space?
Your Charity Space is a simple blogging tool for you to write about the charities and causes you support and to get others involved in what you're doing.
Who Can Take Part?
Anyone who has a charity to shout about! Individuals, or organisations, who want to share their own charity news, information, events and fund raising activities with others.
How Do I Start?
You need to be registered on the site to be able to create a new blog and upload text, images and video, and to be able to comment on other people's blogs. Registration box is in the top left hand corner of the site. It takes a few minutes and is free.
How Do I Create a Blog?
Once registered, you login in and go to Your Charity Space on the main menu bar. Once in the YCS main index, click Create new blog and start writing text, browse for an image, if you have one, or a video clip. And Save. The blogging page has tools for bold, italics, etc.
Uploading Images & Video
You can upload one image or one video with each blog, or you can just text blog. You can upload most video file formats – Quicktime (.mov), Windows (.wmv), Real (.rm), Flash (.flv) and mobile phone files (3gp). Ideally your file should be compressed for the web. Your video should be for broadband, with the frame size 320 x 240. There is a file size restriction of 100 MB for each video file uploaded.

What Shall I Put in my Blog?
Whatever you want provided it complies with the Terms and Conditions of the site. Interesting personal stories about your charity experiences, achievements, activities, events, news and appeals are likely to get visits and responses.
Submitting Your Post
Once you've saved your blog (text, image or video) it will be moderated and posted on the site and will appear in Most Recent Blogs and will feature in Browse by Category.
Can I Make Changes?
You can edit any of the blogs you have posted at any time. Go to 'your blogs' in the logged in panel, select a post and look for the edit icon. You can change the text, image or video on any existing blog and save it again. It will be moderated before it is posted. You can also edit your profile at any time in the logged in panel.
Involving Others
Other people can comment on what you've posted in a Comments section on each blog. Again, to comment you need to be registered on the site and 'logged in'. Other people can also donate to your charity (see Donate below).
Donate
The Donate button enables anyone to donate money to a charity via a Community Channel/Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) page where you can select the charity you want to give money to. The database carries the majority of UK-registered charities. You don't have to be logged in to donate.
Comments
You need to be logged in to comment on other blogs. Just click the Leave a Comment link, write your text and Save and it will be posted straightaway.
