London 360 are putting their questions to this years Mayoral candidates.
Channel 4 and UpRise have invited youth organizations from around the capital for a live debate at the end of February. The event will be streamed live online and guests include BSix Sixth Form College, Elevations Network, Spirit of London Awards, 2 Fingers to Violence, Lives Not Knives, and Reprezent FM.
The panel will consist of current mayor Boris Johnson as well as Brian Paddick, Jenny Jones, Ken Livingstone, and Siobhan Benita. Playwright, author and critic Bonnie Greer OBE will chair the event and hosted by ex Blue Peter presenter, Konnie Huq.
UpRise is a London based organisation that celebrates diversity and aims to bridge the gap between community groups. UpRise Project Director, Paul Richards said
“This is a fast-changing modern world and young people have an uncanny way of addressing the moment, we’re giving them a platform to air their voices and influence the people who are asking for their vote.”
London 360 has always prided itself on taking a fresh and new approach to championing community groups and bringing grass roots stories into the main stream media.
London 360 Editor Jasmine Dotiwala said “I think the candidates are unaware of the challenge they have let themselves in for. This generation is inquisitive and opinionated and I have no doubt that some important issues will be raised. I can’t wait to attend.”
Award winning British vocalist, cellist and composer Ayanna will perform at the event.
