There's a growing debate in the UK about whether the voting age should be lowered to 16. Some countries have already enfranchised young people and many people here believe that there is no better time for democratic and electoral renewal. This film follows three young campaigners who set out to prove that 16 and 17 year olds do have the social and political maturity to vote.

James Bannon, is a natural community organiser from Rochdale who wants to eradicate negative stereotypes of young people by creating better relations between teenagers and the police. His journey ends right at the top with a meeting with Theresa May at the Home Office.

Tyrone Steele is an AS level student and politician-in-the-making from Oxford, who lobbies his local Conservative MP in Parliament as part of his campaign to eradicate homophobic bullying in schools.

Rowan Ings is a young environmental campaigner from London, passionate about improving the recycling activities of schools. She takes her message to Caroline Lucas, the first elected MP of the Green Party.

Have a look at the Co-Operative's campaign to lower the voting age to 16.
