Inspiring short film series looking at charity and community leaders’ personal ‘eureka’ moments.
Mildred Talabi – The Salmon Youth Centre
The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey, established over 100 years ago, works with 16-24 to help people with the transition into adult life and to get jobs. Mildred started public speaking and leadership programmes, helping young people to gain the confidence to speak in more formal situations and “release the potential that they have.”
Greg Jones – Body & Soul
Greg is a volunteer at Body & Soul, a charity that works with children, teenagers and families that are closely affected, or living with HIV. Greg worked with a number of Body & Soul’s service users, or members as they are called, to secure funding to develop social enterprises, fostering a culture of entrepreneurialism throughout the charity. “The ideas that the members came back with were really innovative and creative…”
Michela Ferrara – NICOLA (New International Company of Live Arts)
Michela is Creative Director of NICOLA, a youth-led charity that gives them the opportunity to gain skills for work and life. NICOLA also organises international cultural exchanges for young people from all across the creative spectrum, from music to visual arts.
