The policeman staring down at the children playing in the football field appears to be more robot than man. Behind him a city is engulfed in flames that firemen are battling to put out. A man is dismantling a railway line and an MC wearing a gold chain is preaching a message of peace and love.
Wall za Hood (the Walls of the Hood in Swahili) is the story of a mural in a notorious Kenyan slum.
How did this mural come to be on this wall and why is it significant to Nairobi and to Kenya as a whole? In this short documentary, the minds behind this unique public art project answer these questions and share their understanding of what it all means…
