04 August 2014, 01:05
Inspiring short film series looking at charity and community leaders’ personal ‘eureka’ moments.
Jennifer Jones – Digital Commonwealth
The Digital Commonwealth project focuses on lowering the threshold for involvement for individuals and groups so that they can be empowered to exploit creative tools and technologies to tell their stories, digitally. The project reaches out to individuals and groups experiencing social, cultural or economic marginalization, whether related to age, ethnicity, poverty, disability or social isolation.
Greg Chauvet – Glasgow Bike Scheme
Like London, Glasgow has now created a public bike hire scheme. The Bike Station, Scotland’s largest bicycle recycling organisation, is running the project, helping new and experienced cyclists alike to get in to the saddle on Glasgow’s streets. The Bike Station takes in nearly 10,000 old and discarded bikes every year.
Mary Stobo – Church of Scotland
Mary is a Community Chaplain, a voluntary role with the NHS, the Church of Scotland and the Presbytery of Sutherland. Mary works with people affected by dementia outside of the hospital.
